Lil’ Caboose Child Care Christmas Party 2012

WOW, we had a busy, busy fun filled day!!  We made two crafts, a picture of each child with a frame for the refrigerator and decorated a Red Bell with Christmas stickers .  We played games, Pin the nose on the Reindeer, Pin the nose on Santa Clause, hot potato with a bean bag, musical chairs, then we went through all the games again.  We also made popcorn and watched Christmas movies, Santa Clause is coming to Town and Frosty the Snowman.  Had snacks of cookies and (we will have Rice Krispy treats after lunch) juice (Thanks Moms for supplying our treats and drink).  Then was the time all the kids were waiting for…. The Gift exchange. “M” had “E”,  “E” had “J”,  “J” had “K”, and “K” had “M”.  They all got great gifts and were very happy.  Then I gave all the kids the Gifts from me (Parents, you will get yours at pick-up).  I received a wonderful gift as well, Thank you SO much “N” & “C”.   For lunch we had Bagel pizza bites and then the great Rice Krispy treats.  I have uploaded a few of the picture I took on here, but there was no way I could upload all of them (As some of you know, I tend to take a lot of pictures, 128 today alone). I am having a very difficult time deciding which ones to upload on here even.  So, I have uploaded the entire album to snapfish.com and sent you all an invitation to view all the pictures.    FYI:  As you look as these pictures, look at them from the bottom.  For some reason they uploaded backwards.

Christmas Tree Craft

I had made these trees over the weekend with Popsicle sticks and a flat chop stick. I painted them brown and green and hot glued the popsicle sticks onto chop stick.  Today they decorated them.  The kids has a bottle of glue, yard (or Garland), circles of colored paper that I hole punched (for lights) and pom pom (for bulbs).  The kids loved this art project.  Hope you enjoy them.

And remeber that if you want to see these pictures larger, just click on them.

Christmas Bulb/Light

Today we had another small group due to sickness, but the group that was here made a Christmas Bulbs/Light.  I put my artistic talent to work (ya right) and some how created the shape of a Christmas Bulb on Construction paper.  I then cut those out and cut out the top part of the bulb.  The kids then pasted on the top part of the bulb, squirted glue all over their bulb and sprinkled several colors of glitter onto the glue. We shook off the extra glitter and what remained were some wonderfully decorated Bulbs/Light.  Enjoy!!

Popsicle Stick Ornaments

Today we made Popsicle Stick Ornaments.  First I took plain popsicle sticks and painted them red and green.  Once the paint dried I took out my hot glue gun and used four sticks and made them into the shape I wanted. I could have let the kids use white glue to glue the sticks together, but I don’t think they would have liked the waiting while the glue dried.  Then the kids took Glitter glue and pom poms and used them on their ornanments to make pretty designs.

Ho Ho Santa’s

Today we used construction paper, Cotton balls, glue and a black marker and made Santa Clause faces. The kids loved this craft.   I cut the pink construction paper into circles for the head, and the red paper into hat shapes and also a red nose.  The kids glued the pieces together and glued the nose on. Then the fun really began.  The children loved playing and feeling the cotton balls.  Then we spread glue over the bottom of the hat and the lower face.  The kids then placed cotton balls on the face and hat.  I then just took a black marker and made the eyes.  They really had a fun time making their Santa faces.

I would value any feedback you may have on this entire BLOG site.  I haven’t heard a lot since I began it.   Thank you..
