I had an extra small group on Wednesday. Some parents are dong last minute Summer activities with their children, which is wonderful. So we headed to Sebago Lake State Park for the day. Two of my children went with us as well. It was a lot of fun, the water was nice, built in the sand, THEN, the Yellow Jackets came out again, just like the prior day at Nason’s beach. We avoided them as long as we could by staying in the water and putting all food back in the Vehicle. By 2:45 everyone was getting tred. So, we headed back to Daycare for some more outdoor fun.
It was such a beautiful day today. Except for lunch and naps/rest we were outside. The littlest two had a very active day. They were everywhere. Sand box, pool and water table. Also, today they could not get enough of the playhouse. They even used the tunnel several times. The older kids enjoyed the swings, sandbox, singing and much more. We had some visitors so they kids had more people to play with. Hope you enjoy the picturs. Feel free to comment. Leg hugs. Getting tired
We got a pass to the Gray Game Preserve and wanted to be sure to use it before the Summer is over. Which will be sooner than we think. We all had a great time. Many animals that we didn’t get to see last time were out this time. You will se many, but not all, of the animals we observed. An Alpino Raccoon, Black Bear, Turtles, Fish Hachery, The Fisher, a Skunk, owls, Eagles, a Peacock, Deer, Turtles, a Linx. We didn’t see the Moose, Fox or the Mountain Lion this time though. Another great day!! Hope you enjoy the pictures. (for some reason, during the upload, the pictures got out of order).
It was really nice out most of the day so that is where we were. In the kiddie pools, riding bikes/toddler ride ons, playing tag and more. Then we were hit with some really big raindrops, followed by a downpour. We headed inside to the playroom. There was coloring, play doh, babies, connect toys, musical instruments and more. Once the sun showed back up back outside we went. Although the ground was wet, no one seems to be bothering by it. You will see a couple “New” kids in the pictures. They are actually previous Child Care kiddos of mine who came back to visit. That was wonderful. Another great day. Enjoy the pictures.
Today was an amazing day, and wasn’t even a planned field trip. We decided that we would go to the playground(s) early because weather called for showers in the afternoon. So off we went with the kids favorite sing along CD playing. We started off in Gorham at the Great Falls School playground. Once the five of them got tired of that one, but wanted to go to another playground, I decided to make it a “Playground(S) day”. So next we went to Portland to Deering Oaks Park. They have a nice playground, as well as a Duck pond with a duck house and huge sprinkler AND the best thing was, there is a wading area for kids to run around and get wet, while surprise Sprinklers pop up everywhere. (It changed a lot since I used to play there). Onto Westbrook’s Park on Main Street for more fun and energy releasing. Then on to what I thought was going to be the final Park of the day, was the one on Morrill Ave in Gorham, near the High School. They have a unique car to play on, and the kids used it to “get to the grocery store” and back. Once we were loaded back in the vehicle, I listened to how hot the kids were. So I decided to surprise them with one more park. We went to Shaw Park in Gorham and the kids went swimming and got cooled off. We saw Ducks, squirrels, a baby snapping turtle and a horsefly. Today was a ton of fun as well as educational. If the kids are as tired as I am, their parents should have an early night. I took over 250 pictures and I couldn’t upload them all, but I know I did go overboard with the total I did upload. Enjoy them!!!

I decided to take the kids on another Field Trip today, since I had a small group of 4. We went to Fort Williams/Portland Head Light. All for kids, even the baby, had a blast on the beach, in the water, The older kids loved seeing, touching rocks and climbing old Forts. It was a walking History lesson for them as well. “A” had a lot of questions about Cannons. She wanted to know how big a cannon ball was. So I took her to the information booth and to our surprise he had one hanging right there. “J” had more questions about the big bells. They could not believe how big a light house is up close. They were both interested to hear about the wars and what occurred there, and the fact that they got to go into these forts. We even got a visit from the LL Bean Boot.. We picked up lunch and had a pic nic and no field trip to South Portland is complete without a stop at Red’s Dairy, they had no idea. It was a wonderful day.. Enjoy all the pictures. See the connon ball top right. LL Bean boot Fenced off Forts
