TUESDAY: I had looked up a DIY project for people that may have over stimulation concerns. It is actually a weighted blanket/Lap pad. It is said to help increasing certain “calming”chemical levels in the brain. You can follow the process with these pictures, but the short description. Put 1.5 cups of rice into a zip lock bag (9). Duck tape the bags shut. Place in three rows (Or how ever many you would like for the size you desire). We used 9. Three rows of three. Once the rice was all secure we duct taped the bags, spaced equally apart. We continued to duct tape until all the zip lock bags were secure. You can see the end result. You can make a cover for it, or use a pillow case.

WEDNESDAY: We had lots of fun in the Daycare room today. We went through many items, and with the kids help and input, determined what was to be left out and what could be put away.
During play time, “C” showed off his belly. He was so sweet giving little “J” his blanket, over and over again, as well as hugs. There was dancing, music, Barbies and lots of play with many different activities/toys. That made it very hard to decide what to put into storage. I will let you see for yourself the happiness in everyone’s faces. I even got a special kiss from “C”. My sweet kiddos.
Enjoy the pictures and please feel free to comment on them here or on Facebook. I welcome your Feedback.
Today was a great day here at Lil’ Caboose. It was a no School day, which generally means, PAJAMA DAY!!!!!
It was a nonstop, fun activity day. There was dancing, the kids painted wonderful pictures, using their imaginations. They also played a large variety of games, such as- don’t spill the beans, cooties, hot potato, bendaroos and many more. We even had a breakfast pic nic on the mats in the Daycare room.
Since tomorrow is a day to celebrate our much appreciated Veteran’s, I read a kids version of what Veteran’s day is all about. Then I put it into words that the kids could understand. I have a child in my care that was affected, sadly, due to a tragedy to a relative in their family, a Veteran. This child mentioned it several times during our discussion, so we talked about it and they shared with the other children how they was affected. After which we colored an American Flag as well as a Soldier.
Another all around great day … Enjoy the photos..
Today we did not work in “K”s workbook (not that we do every day anyway) but I decided to take her and the baby to the Baxter Memorial Library for Pre school reading and activities. Both kids had lots of fun. The baby crawled everywhere and “K” participated in the reading, singing, body movement and craft with the other Pre School children that are brought there. She really worked on her Social skills, which is very important at her age, as all or most of you know. Today’s books were about Lions, so the craft was a Lion hand puppet. We also played with some toys, read some books ourselves and played with the dolls (babies). And, today was a special treat, they had a sort of scavenger treat. You had to find the poster 1 – 12 and do what the poster said on it. For example, “Roar as loud as you can”, “Stretch on your tippie toes and stretch, but do not fall over”, “Find the Lion’s paw prints”, “Find certain books and dust them”and so on. When we arrived back at Daycare we played outside for a bit. The fresh air was good and it really didn’t feel that cold out. When “J” and “A” arrived from school we had some more fun in the playroom. They were princesses, cooks, readers, spinners and more. Another great day! Enjoy the pictures.
