Outside Play May 14 2015

A beautiful day today. We spent it outside enjoying the warmth and sun while we have it.  We brought the paints outside with us, however the wind kept us from being able to paint.  There was tag, flower picking, climbing, making mud soup, showing off loose teeth and much more. And our newest addition BC, has become comfortable quickly, which is wonderful.

Another great day at Lil’ Caboose.  I hope you enjoy the pictures..

May 6th Outside play/Welcome a New Addition

Today we want to welcome BC to our Daycare family.  He and JP were inseparable all day. We were outside all day, again, except for lunch and rest. Everyone was all Sun screened, Sun hatted and protected. Hoping to get the canopies up tomorrow for shade.

Another great day at Lil’ Caboose. Enjoy the photos.

Outside play/soccer/slides/tunnel and more

What a nice day to be outside. It was a bit chilly at first, then got really nice. Gave us plenty of time to do a lot of activities.  The two little ones “shared” many toys, like the Cozy Coupe, the slide, the tunnel etc.  Big brother took his little brother for a walk down the driveway, which he loved doing. He also practiced his horseshoe toss. The younger kids practiced their ring toss (or placing the rings on the poles). When the older kids arrived off the bus there was some sandbox play and then my daughter taught them some Soccer moves. Of course kicking the ball was the favorite part, but goalie was a close second.  They even had their own cheering section, until she got too occupied with her apple.  I have a ride on snail, but one of my little ones decided she wanted to carry it around the yard instead.  One of my other litle ones prefered to play with the wood chips under the slide/swings.  We even fit in a wildness walk.

New child-Getting used to here/Arts and crafts

Today we spent welcoming the most recent member to our Lil’ Caboose family.  He is 4 years old with lots of energy and curiosity, he will be with me 5 days a week. His photos will not be appearing on the BLOG.  So, again, we did a lot around our new child, getting him used to where things are located, a fire drill, he selected his chair for snacks and lunch etc.  Then was craft time. We did painting, lots of crafts, even dancing, then fun play in the Daycare room. Then played outside, until the rain hit. He was here yesterday as well, so he got very familiar with our “Play ground” as he calls it, because we were outside all day, and he had a great day, both days.  And today he had a friend here to play with.  “K” was here and the baby.  “K” was a good friend and showed him the “Ropes” and what she likes to play with.  She is always a big help with the baby too. (As a side note, my 12 year old daughter took the craft pictures for me today).  After the school kids arrived there was “Princess” play,  dancing,  and trampoline. “A” even showed off what a wonderful craft she created at School. “J” and “A”  played frozen, their newest imaginary play.  It is great to watch them have so much fun.  Another great day!!  Enjoy the pictures.

“K” and “S” learning and Playing

THE BLOG IS BACK!!!   I will warn you though, both of my cameras are in need of repair for some reason. So the pictures are not nearly as good as they were before. Welcome “S’ and her brother “J” to the Daycare, they began last week.  Today was filled with fun and games, as well as learning letters.  We did some coloring, letter practicing as well as a lot of “playing” with baby dolls, kitchen, food, jumping, running and more. It was a great day.

A busy Monday and Welcome JW

We had a new friend that joined us today “JW”.  He attends Kindergarten so he is only with us half days. While he is at school learning, we are here learning.  We began our day reading many books, that the children chose.  So many different types of stories.   Since not everyone was dressed for the outside snow we did some snow activities inside.  We did one learning activity and three new activities/Crafts.  We started off with the “Pre-school” learning portion.  I broke out the tracing cards that have all different shapes on them and the children practiced tracing different shapes with a crayon on the boards.  Next we all made a Snowflake.  The kids did a good job of using the scissors, just needed a little help.  Then I mixed up paint and water, went outside and brought back a bowl of snow. The children all scooped the snow and piled it on their papers, even packed it down.  We went over what colors we were using (the kids chose the colors), I added paint brushes and they set off painting their snow piles.  They loved this and wanted to do it over and over, they could not understand why they couldn’t take their creations home though.  Our fourth planned activity was “Ice Skating” on the carpet. I put wax paper on the children’s feet and they slipped and slid around the carpet.  It wasn’t quite as slippery as I expected, and the kids weren’t all sure on how to shuffle their feet either, but did do some slipping.  We did both fine motor and large motor skills today and had lots of fun doing them.   We moved down to the play room, where there were a couple new toys to play with, they were a big hit too.  Once “JW” got here we had lunch and went back down so he could have some fun in the play room before )and after) rest time.  He had a blast, so many choices.

PARENTS: PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND SNOW PANTS so we can go outside and play!!

Our new Addition today, Welcome “E” (2 of 2 Posts today)

We had a new child join our group today.  I have known him since he was born, so he is pretty comfortable here, which is great.  He fits right in playing wonderfully with the other kids. Usually the first day of a new child I spend just letting them get used to the play room and outside equipment as well as the schedule. But since “E” has played here many times, he didn’t really need much time to figure out where everything was located.  All the children welcomed “E” and included him in all activities. REMEMBER: To see the pictures larger, just click on them.
