A couple days of Pre-school “A”, “BLUE”,”Beads”, “Lines” and more

We having be learning the letter “A” (Apple, Acorn, Ant). We have been learning the color “Blue” The shape of a “Circle” as well as tracing dots to make a line. A daily exercise, fine motor skill practice, adding beads to a string, and so much more.  Keep in mind these children are starting pre-school at two years old, not three when most kids start. They are getting a great start, and they do their very best, while having fun. They love, love, love making the craft that come with the curriculum, as well as ones I create. This is one of the most rewarding occupations when you watch children grown and learn before your eye.

First day of School and Pre-School

Tuesday was the First day of school for my second Graders, Kindergartener and my pre- schoolers. I did my normal first day of school pictures and getting on the bus. It actually went very well. Once they were on the bus it was time to start our new pre-school Curriculum. This is specific for 2 year olds. We concentrate on certain letters, numbers and Color per month. September is A,B & C. 0 & 1. And the color BLUE. First day we went over a “Friendship Wreath”. It lists five toddler activities they can practice to be a good friend (sharing/hugs etc). Then the next step was to color in the hands that made the wreath, using many different colors. Also they did free coloring. As you know, we continue to learn throughout the day. Next was playing. Then our normal days routines. Later in the day, we waited for the other kiddos to return back from school on the bus. Then the tents came out and everyone played in those.

Another great day at Lil’ Caboose. Enjoy the pictures.

February School Vacation Wednesday 18th 2015

Today was filled with lots of fun. My daughters joined the Daycare for awhile to play games with the kids. My oldest daughter gave airplane rides with her knees and feet. She also did a “hair Salon” and a Disney music dance party.  My younger daughter was a “Teacher” and did really well helping the kids with letters and counting.  She also played barbies and house with the kids for some time. The kids love it when they come down. A variety of toys/items were used, as well, today.  Quite a bit of imaginary play went on.

Another great day. Enjoy the pictures. Some really cute ones.

Inside Day/Alphee/Computer learning/Playing

ONE DAY BEHIND. Never enough hours in one day.

Tuesday I introduced two more learning activities. One is Alphee, some parents might remember him. He is a robot that comes with cards with many different learning skills.  Also I brought out the Learning Laptop, which also asks many skill based questions. The kids especially liked Alphee, he is lots of fun.  Then there was lots of play.  We got a new kitchen set so that was a big hit, as well as tons of music being made.

Inside and outdoor play/Hard at work

Today the 5 of us played in the Daycare room during the first part of the morning as it was pretty cold out. CS did his first finger painting, and I did or attempted to do his finger prints. We had some reading time,  pre-school learning and lots of time for playing and fun.  The two 4 year olds worked very hard on some learning skills, counting,  adding, shapes, matching pictures with the “first” letter sound, mazes and more and they did very well.   Once it got a bit warmer we headed out, and the fun continued.  The kids rode bikes while I pushed the two little ones in the jogger. They did quite a bit of bouncing in the bounce house, chased bubbles and more. Once the School kids arrived they also played in the bounce house, the sand box AND my daughter helped make a “fort” for them to hide in.  They thought that was pretty great. Another great day. Enjoy the photos.

“K” in her workbook/Certificate/Sledding

“K” spent two days working in her Workbook. Today she completed another section, “Matching”, and received her certificate. She loved making tulip flowers using a fork and paint, really cute. She even made two.  She was also a princess for play. We played and learned a lot the past couple of days. She is a big help with the baby too.  After the School kids got here we went to the back hills and did some sledding.   Another great day. Enjoy the pictures.

Letters/Numbers/All about me/Fish craft/Playing

Today it was just us four girls during the day. The preschoolers worked on some of their workbook pages. They even got their Certificates for completing the “All about me” section. They drew their favorite pet as well as a face, and did really well. They also did the number “5” and we did a lot of work on the letter “F”.  For a craft, I took a CD, cut two fins, a tail and a mouth out of the color construction paper that the girls chose. They glued the pieces on the correct areas, put on a google eye and as a little Special addition we added some sprinkles/glitter and they had a “F”ish. They came out really cute. The girls played with some “Slime” and we talked about the feel of it.  They especially enjoyed the noise it made as they were putting it back into the jar.

We played in the Play room for a bit, had lunch, read and rest time. Then back to the play room with so much imagination and creativity.  Which continued when the after school kids joined us.   Another great day!

On a sad note, we will be saying Good-Bye to “S” at the end of the week.  Her parent’s had an opportunity they could not turn down.
