Where care is most like home.

+Only had three little ones here today (one is not in the photos).  Would have had more but roads were bad, there were school closings and some parents never left their homes. We had fun as always.  We did quite a bit of large motor and fine motor skill work today, without the kids even knowing it.  They played with water beads, which feel wet and squishy as well as being hard to hold onto.  They also played with the Color rice we made a little while back. They loved using the funnels, but then I did a change up and loaded the Rice bucket with small toys so the kids went on a treasure hunt in the rice.  They showed me their finds. For a craft we made Snowmen.  The girls were so thrilled to make those. They picked out their own ribbons, buttons and hats (hats, which were made out of small baby socks).  We got creative with the face, even using beads for the mouth, I was happy to get the noses to stand out (glue guns are a wonderful thing).  The final craft was an Icicle. My daughter learned how to make huge snow flakes so we just made one piece, out of 8, and called them an Icicle.  Instead of the white blank paper I had them color the paper before my daughter did the cutting she needed to do.  I lost track of the time and “K”s Mom showed up just in time to help her color her paper, before it became an Icicle. That made “K” very happy, she said “Me and Mommy made it together”.  We did some active movement inside, like dancing and more, because it was not a day to be outside.  Another great day. Enjoy the pictures.
